TopArts2012 salon des refuses

Are you an art student in VCE whose work wasn’t accepted into TopArts? Or do you know an art student in VCE whose work didn’t make the cut?

If there is enough interest, one hundredth gallery would like to hold a TopArts 2012 Salon des Refuses in February 2012.

Salon des Refusés is French for ‘exhibition of rejects’. It was generally used to describe an exhibition of works rejected by the jury of the official Paris Salon. The term is now used widely to describe works that they may be too avant-garde for the mainstream exhibition (regardless of the venue).

one hundredth gallery would like to sponsor this exhibition and is now calling for submissions from interested artists. Submission need to be no more than a page and need to include a photo of the artwork along with its dimensions, details, medium etc., and a short artist’s statement.

Submissions can be emailed to charles@100thgallery.com by 5 January 2012. If you would prefer to have a chat, please call on 0413 00 1234 or come into the gallery during any of our opening hours.

We will exhibit as many works as we can and may rotate works to provide as many new artists with an exhibition opportunity as possible.
