2012 archive – baby guerrilla
Baby Guerrilla is a Melbourne artist whose powerful and thought provoking pieces are a meditation on the times in which we live.
The artist graduated from the Victorian College of The Arts in 2002. During her Degree she won several art prizes and after graduating went on to win The Leader Art Prize in the Toorak Village Festival of Sculpture.
The artist has exhibited widely since graduating with both Solo and Group shows in commercial and artist-run spaces. She has exhibited at The Melbourne Art Fair, The University of Manchester (UK) as well as, Platform, Melbourne City Library, Trocadero Artspace and many others. The artist works across various mediums and techniques completing commissions on walls throughout the Western suburbs of Melbourne.
In 2010 she completed a residency at The Red Gate Gallery in Beijing and had her work commended as a favourite by ACCA as part of the HP Drawing Exhibition. Baby Guerrillas’ work was on display at the Art Gallery of NSW in 2011 for a three month period after being shortlisted for the Sir John Sulman Art Prize in 2011 she exhibited as part of the 2011 State of Design Festival and the 2011 Children’s Literature Festival.
In 2012 Baby Guerrilla will be an Artist in Residence at Montsalvat and has currently been shortlisted for the Albany Art Prize.
